***BASEBALL FEVER CLASSIC***

 APRIL 6-9, 2010

♦DAY 4♦

!«CHAMPIONSHIP»!

MANDARIN 9  ARLINGTON C.D. 8
001000000403   8-7-2
001000000404   9-5-2

Mandarin(Jacksonville,Fl.) outlasted Arlington Country Day(Jacksonville,Fl.) in one of the greatest games ever played in a Hall Of Fame tournament! This all-out battle lasted a record setting 12-rounds & ended on a Sac. Fly with 1 out in the Bottom of the 12th. Both teams battled through regulation tied at 1-1 with each team scoring a run in the third inning. Just when it seemed the Apaches were going to seal it up with 4 in the Top of the 10th, 1st Baseman Brian Mathews unloaded a 3 run blast with 2 outs deep into the night time sky. The Mustangs tied it up at 5 & snatched victory from Colt Janousik who toiled 9+ innings. Mandarin rallied for a third time in the bottom of the 12th to score 4 times and end the 4 1/2 hour marathon and took home the 10-pound Trophy after both Teams had given everything they had! Both teams then endured a 6 hour ride home to Jacksonville arriving about the time the sun came up knowing they had played one of the all time high school classic games.
